I. Introduction

The Tournament has had a bloody rise in Capture The Flag Matches lately. The Public heavily enjoyed these wars, of foe vs. foe, pride on the line, Heaven or Hell, do or die. But now the outcry for them is even bigger. Not content to sit back and stick to old formulas, The Liandri Corporation had some work done on existing Deathmatch arenas, to convert them into Capture The Flag Match Arenas.

This is just one of them.

II. Level Info

Another Quality release from Darkseid Productions! This is my fourth Released UT Map, and quite a bit of work was actually involved in doing the conversion from DM to CTF:

-What became Red Base had to have the Pressure Chamber Triggers/Tags Fully Renamed

-New Pathnoding had to be done

-Light Coronas had to be recolored

-ZoneInfos had to be renamed

-Red Logo on Crates had to be removed (Due to there not being a Blue Equivalent)

-Flags Added (Duh!)

-New Screenshot while selecting levels

-Fixed a BSP Hole that somehow popped up

-New Music

-Fixed NASTY problem bots had with Elevators

-Whole bunch of other small, miscellaneous stuff

Please note: I DID NOT DO THE ORIGINAL MAP! The Original Map, DM-Pressure, was the Fine work of Juan Pancho "XceptOne" Eekels. The CONVERSION of this map is mine, but it wouldn't have been possible without his Fine, Fine work. So a lot of Credit goes to him, and, for that matter, all of the Mappers of the Maps released with UT.

III. Tips and Tricks

First, if you haven't yet, play DM-Pressure. If you have you'll know this level like your Opisthenar. (The Back of your hand.)

Taking Flags is a HUGE risk, seeing as they're both inside the Pressure Chambers. (Heh, heh.) Playing Rambo won't get you too far, instead, Teamwork is critical, as all it takes is someone to Push (Or Shoot!) Either Trap Trigger and it's all over for you. So bring a couple of your Fragging Friends with you, you'll need it.

Assuming you DO get out alive, there's still several Choke Points: Only Two ways out into the Main Pillar Hall, and Only Two to The other side. So Try to be creative: Remember, there's a Water Tank inside both bases. Just be careful of fights in Water, for if you get distracted... *glub*

Not a lot of people know about them, but there ARE Sniper Rifles and Flak Cannons (Well) Hidden in the level, just like the Original. Thigh Pads are right across from the Flak Cannon, too. Be Warned: You'll need a Translocator or be good with Impact Jumping to Get to them.

You can really screw with your opponent's heads if you take the flag and hide somewhere. Such as where the Sniper Rifles/Flak Cannons are. This is a good way to make them wonder where the heck you are, while you call in the Calvalry to sweep in while you dash back to the base. Just Remember, you WILL glow when you have a flag, and if that glow is spotted, you're fucked. This is especially true of the Flak Cannon hiding area, as the Water Tunnel is right underneath it.

IV. Secrets

No Secrets. I decided converting the map was enough work. :p

V. Thanks and Shouts

-Big, Big, BIG Thanks to Brian "BASTARD" Leucht, My Regular UT Playing Plartner and Dark Pulse-Asskicker Wannabe. ;) He played through the initial Builds of this map, which still had some bugs (A playerstart that was Set for Team Red in Team Blue's base, The BSP Hole, [Which was in the cieling near The Red Water Tank] a few still unrenamed ZoneInfos, Bad Light Corona coloring, [Only noticeable on DirectX/OpenGL, or if you set whatevr Render you use to enable Light coronas] etc) to fix. Now if only he'd actually kill me more and win some games... :p

-Juan Pancho "XceptOne" Eekels. I know I already thanked him, but he really deserves it again, because if DM-Pressure were never made, CTF-Pressure{DSRemix} wouldn't either. So big thanks to him again.

-CliffyB. Why? Because CliffyB owns all of us. 'Nuff said.

-Anyone and everyone who's liked my levels before. There's still more stuff on the pipeline, and as long as UT is popular, I'll keep doing stuff for it, even as UT2003 starts taking more time.

VI. Revision Data

6/2/03 - Actually got the idea to do this in school. "Wouldn't it be cool if DM-Pressure was a CTF Map?" The Die was cast. Heavy Work, actually got scrapped twice before the Third Build worked well enough. Initial Placement of stuff and playtesting between 6/2 and 6/3 (Early AM hours) With Brian "BASTARD" Leucht. He liked it, so that's a good sign. Version .50

6/3/03 - Fixed the errors that happened last night. BSP Hole covered up, ZoneInfos all hopefully renamed, New Pathnoding network. Had to redo some LiftCenters/LiftExits that were tagged wrong. (Bots crowded/just plain stopped near a few). Brian "BASTARD" Leucht also did this one, and liked it a lot better. :) Version .98

6/4/03 - Fixed the few small remaining problems: ZoneInfo Names fixed, One Red Light had a Blue corona still, Bots finally using lifts Right. Added in Translocation, which seems to work fine. Version .99

6/6/03 - Translocation is now fully done. The Bots do Occasionally get the Flak Cannon, but I've yet to see them go for the Sniper Rifle. If they don't, no big deal. SSJ6Wolf tested this, which is most likely the final revision, unless someone points out an error I made or something I can improve. Version 1.0

6/7/03 - Found another Blue Light in the Red Area. New Music. (Again!) Since 1.0 was never released, this release is officially 1.0b.

8/20/03 - Long Overdue Final Update. Few Remaining Light Coronas Fixed. 1.1, should be THE absolute Final. Of course, I've been sayingthis for the last three Revs. :p

VII. Finality

That's about it for this readme. Comments, Questions, and Bugs should be sent to darkpulse@sherlok.net, or to one of my IM Screenames.

AIM - Dark Pulse1
MSN - pulsemanfan001@hotmail.com (Please _DON'T_ email this, I get enough crap from there.)
ICQ - 192410522
YIM - negapulseman

That covers it all. Enjoy the map, and if you like it, pass it to your friends. Play it on your servers. And if you don't... well, let's just keep it our little secret. ;)

Game on, Prosper, and oh, Have a Nice Day.
